Eleven Premier League stars have been nominated for the men's 2024 Fifpro team of the year with seven coming from Premier League champions Manchester City. Only European champions Real Madrid - with eight - have more nominations than City, including Kylian Mbappe who joined Real from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer. The seven City players nominated are goalkeeper Ederson, defenders Ruben Dias and Kyle Walker, midfielders Rodri, Kevin de Bruyne, Phil Foden and striker Erling Haaland.

Pressure is piling up on Guardiola after defeat to Liverpool on Sunday made it six defeats out of seven for the reigning Premier League champions in all competitions. He was heckled by Liverpool's fans in the closing stages that he is due to be sacked and he responded by holding up six fingers to represent his Premier League titles.
