Olivia and Liam were themost popular baby namesin America for 2025, marking a seventh consecutive year both names held the top spot in the U.S. Social Security Administration’s annual data.
Ahead of Mother’s Day every year, Social Security releases thelist of the 1,000 most popular baby namesbased on Social Security card applications submitted at birth for the previous calendar year.

For 2025, the most popular baby names remained mostly consistent with the previous year’s top 10 ranking, with only Charlotte climbing to second place among girls, ending Emma’s six-year run in the runner-up slot.
After reigning as a top 10 fixture for several years, Ava dropped from the list entirely and was replaced by Eliana, a name meaning “my God has answered” in Hebrew, which debuted at No. 10.
