Army investigating helicopter fly by of Kid Rock 'southern White House'

The Army is investigating after one of its helicopters appeared to fly byKid Rock'shome in Nashville to greet him, according to video the conservative musician posted to social media.

The videos showed the country rap-rocker saluting and applauding a military helicopter as it hovered in the sky next to an outdoor pool at his "southern White House," modeled after the president's home in Washington.

"This is a level of respect that (expletive) for brains Governor of California will never know," Kid Rock, an outspoken conservative, captioned the video. "God Bless America and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her."

The post was an apparent dig at Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who last month "banned" Kid Rock from his state in apostto X.

The Army has opened an "administrative review" into the incident, Maj. Montrell Russell, an Army spokesperson, said in a statement to USA TODAY.

The Army is investigating after one of its helicopters appeared to make a stop at Kid Rock's house.

"The Army is aware of a video circulating online that appears to show AH 64 Apache helicopters operating in the vicinity of a private residence in the Nashville area," Russell said.

"Army aviators must adhere to strict safety standards, professionalism, and established flight regulations. An administrative review is underway to assess the mission and verify compliance with regulations and airspace requirements. Appropriate action will be taken if any violations are found."

Kid Rock posted the videos to X on March 28, the same day thatprotesters gathered in thousandsof cities across the country for "No Kings" protests against Trump's efforts to dramatically expand presidential power. According to News Channel 5, the Apache helicoptersalso flewover one such protest in Nashville.

The singer is a years-long friend of Trump's. He recentlyappeared in a videowithRobert F. Kennedy Jr., the secretary of Health and Human Services, in which the pair worked out together in blue jeans and drank raw milk.

Kid Rock also hosted conservative organizationTurning Point USA's halftime show, which was pitched as the "All-American" alternative to Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show.
