5 Marines who have been killed in a US army helicopter crash have been all of their 20s, together with a man who had just gotten married last month.
The CH-53E Super Stallion did not land as scheduled at a Marine Corps station in San Diego amid stormy weather on Tuesday and the aircraft was found in a mountainous area about 40 miles east of the California city on Wednesday morning.
Rescue crews searched for the Marines, but the army confirmed all of them lifeless on Thursday.
The Marine Corps identified them on Friday as Capt Jack Casey, 26, of Dover, New Hampshire; Lance Cpl Donovan Davis, 21, of Olathe, Kansas; Sgt Alec Langen, 23, of Chandler, Arizona; Capt Benjamin Moulton, 27, of Emmett, Idaho; and Capt Miguel Nava, 28, of Traverse Metropolis, Michigan.
Langen, who enlisted within the Corps in 2017 and was serving as the crew chief on the flight, married the love of his life in January, his mother and father stated. Langen's wife was the primary to text his mother that he did not arrive residence.
He grew up eager to be a Marine like his father.
'I might give anything to have the ability to trade places and just have him come residence,' his father, Steve Langen, informed KGTV.
'He died with individuals he needed to be with, doing what he liked and needed to do.'
