Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg and Sir Robert Buckland are amongst Tory grandees pushing Mr Hunt to also shield the taxi business from the hike.
A total of 26 Tory MPs say it's going to assist "shield jobs and livelihoods".
They add: "This is not the time to kick the can down the street."

A Treasury spokesman stated: "The High Courtroom ruling does not change the tax place, it remains the case that fares are liable to VAT at the standard price.
"Nevertheless we are considering rigorously the implications of the Excessive Courtroom ruling including the challenges it raises, and we goal to publish a consultation shortly."
