Graco Recalls Popular Car Seat Due to 'Structural Issue'

Graco is recalling a popular car seat due to a "structural issue."

Gracoannounced the recall of its Snugride Turn & Slide Infant Car Seat on Monday, April 13. "At Graco, the safety of children and the trust of parents and caregivers are at the heart of everything we do," the company began in a statement.

The company said it recalled the car seat line, which was released in January, due to "a structural issue identified during a post-production laboratory test."

The recalled car seats were sold in the U.S. between January and March, at Amazon, Babylist, Target, Walmart and onGracoBaby.com. "No other Graco rotating car seats are affected, including EasyTurn and Turn2M," the statement added. "No other SnugRide models are affected."

"We know parents rely on Graco products every day, and we understand this may create frustration and disruption for families," the company statement continued. "We are working quickly to support affected families and will provide a replacement product at no cost."

The company directed users to fill out a form on its website to receive replacement items. The affected model numbers are as follows:

“The current seat may continue to be used without the base in accordance with the product instructions while you wait for your selected replacement product,” Graco said of the car seat base being recalled.

It also noted that the stroller "is not affected."

Instead of refunds, the company is offering replacement items to those affected by the recall. Customers are asked to upload photo evidence of their products to register for their replacements.
