United States will host five Alpine World Cups during 2026-27 season

Winter Olympians are coming to a slope near you.

The preliminary schedule for the 2026-27 Alpine season includes five World Cups in the United States, including the World Cup finals. It would be the second time in three years that the World Cup finals will be in Sun Valley, Idaho.

Mikaela Shiffrin won gold in the slalom and Lindsey Vonn was second in the super-G at the World Cup finals in Sun Valley in March 2025.

The schedule will be confirmed this spring.

In addition to the World Cup finals, which would be March 20-25, 2027, the women will ski at the famed Birds of Prey course for only the second time, with downhill and super-G races Dec. 12-13, 2026. The World Cup circuit also will return to Copper Mountain for a second consecutive year while Killington, Vermont, is back on the schedule after a year's absence due to construction of a new chair lift.

Here are the proposed World Cups in the United States:

Women

  • Nov. 28-29, 2026: giant slalom, slalom in Killington, Vermont.

  • Dec. 12-13, 2026: downhill, super-G at Birds of Prey in Beaver Creek, Colorado.

  • Nov. 28-29, 2026: super-G and giant slalom in Copper Mountain, Colorado.

  • Dec. 3-6, 2026: downhill (two), super-G and giant slalom at Birds of Prey in Beaver Creek, Colorado.

World Cup finals

March 20-25, 2027: men's and women's downhill, super-G, slalom and giant slalom in Sun Valley, Idaho.
