Bath have the honour of hosting a launch party tonight, for the 30th anniversary edition of what was once the European Cup, but is now an unwieldy, inter-hemisphere event. La Rochelle's visit to The Rec will serve as a momentous Investec Champions Cup opener for the current Premiership leaders, before the rest of the English contenders set about the arduous task of trying to break the recent cycle of French dominance.
