ESPN announces NFL Draft day schedule with no Pat McAfee Show and two-hour College GameDay in major broadcasting change | LC54AS4 | 2024-04-23 02:08:01
THE Pat McAfee Show is hitting the road as the NFL Draft approaches.
Scheduled to be held in Detroit, Michigan, McAfee and Co. previously announced they would be on-location for the first time as they host their annual Draft Spectacular.
The Draft is set to be held at a custom-built theater at the Campus Martius Park in downtown Detroit.
Both McAfee's set and that of ABC will be based in Cadillac Square, just next to the theater site.
But this is far from the only change to ESPN's regular schedule come the first round of the Draft on Thursday, April 25.
Get Up! will kick off the morning as always from 8-10 am ET, followed directly by First Take until noon.
However, McAfee has subsequently been dropped from its usual slot from noon-2 pm.
In its place, SportsCenter will run until 3 pm when NFL Live takes over for two hours in the build-up to the draft at 8 pm.
College GameDay will follow SportsCenter at 5 pm, hosted by Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Rece Davis, and McAfee.
However, it has been announced that former Alabama coach Nick Saban will be on the broadcast, alongside draft expert Mel Kiper Jr., as per ESPN.
NFL Draft Countdown will then run from 7-8 pm.
Starting at 8 pm, the Draft will be broadcast live with Mike Greenberg anchoring ESPN's coverage of the event.

Concurrently, on ESPN+, their app, YouTube, and TikTok, the McAfee Show will be broadcasting their Draft Spectacular.
McAfee will be joined by AJ Hawk, Conor Campbell, Ty Schmit, and Tone Digs.
Also joining the show will be former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

"I'm looking forward to it," the eight-time Super Bowl-winning coach told McAfee and Co.
"Draft Day, Draft Weekend is always an exciting time for everybody.
"For the teams that are building their teams, and the fans and for everybody involved in it.
"It's a great event and I'm looking forward to seeing it from the other side.
"It'll be fun to be in Detroit – being with you guys and getting your expertise."
ESPN also teased further guests to be announced at a later date.
McAfee and Co. will return to their usual spot on Friday from noon until 2 pm, with Darius Butler and Evan Fox joining the show.
