Premier League strikers Callum Wilson and Michail Antonio have offered perception into why present gamers do not pump iron and why some go for it in retirement.

'For a footballer, you don't need to carry around that additional muscle, so I'm like do I have to do bench press? No, not likely,' Wilson stated on The Footballer's Football Podcast.

'What difference is it going to make? You will have pure power anyway I feel, so I avoid weights within the fitness center, consider it or not.'

Antonio added: 'If I even take a look at weights I put on weight right away and I bulk up immediately. If I'm going to do something it'll be core or bodyweight stuff, so I don't put something on. If I'm going in the fitness center and I put on weight, I'm going to get slower and stuff like that, and as I'm getting older I don't really need to lose my pace.'
