Since his behind-bars rampage in 1983, Maudsley has racked up the world record for the longest spell in solitary confinement.

Four prison officers guard the serial killer whenever he leaves his special 14ft by 18ft glass cell in the basement of HMP Wakefield.

Maudsley's brother Kevin stated the twisted killer will never present remorse – as a result of he's "pleased" within the cell.

Kevin informed the Mail: "He'd relatively be on his own than within the normal prison.&

"He's settled in – he wouldn't need to transfer. He simply likes it. He appears pleased enough in there."

Kevin, 71, informed how he visits his brother as soon as a month – speaking by means of metallic doorways whereas sat in the cell next door.

Maudsley, from Toxteth in Liverpool, was first locked up for killing builder John Farrell in 1974.

He handed himself into police and was despatched to Broadmoor hospital – the place he took another inmate hostage and tortured him to demise.
