Several Real Housewives franchise stars are coming to Andy Cohen's defense following Leah McSweeney's bombshell claims towards the Bravo boss.
The previous RHONY star filed a lawsuit towards Cohen and Bravo on February 27. After news of her civil suit went public, she alleged in a prolonged Instagram publish that the network executives "create a harmful work setting, [and] encourage substance abuse."
McSweeney claimed that NBCUniversal exploited her struggles with alcoholism and alleged that Cohen "engaged in cocaine use with 'Housewives' and other Bravolebrities that he employs," in accordance with courtroom paperwork obtained by Page Six. McSweeney additionally alleged that Cohen "rewards Housewives with whom he makes use of cocaine with extra favorable remedy and edits" on the exhibits. The statement read, "We don't intend to litigate this matter within the press, and if Mr. Cohen needs to deal with Ms. McSweeney's claims, we advise he achieve this in Courtroom, not in a letter for the press."
McSweeney's lawyer, Gary Adelman, has since launched a press release to Us, addressing The Real Housewives stars who've spoken out in protection of McSweeney.
"There are more lawsuits coming and there are extra people who are going to speak out," the statement learn. "It doesn't matter what individuals say or assume – that Andy's an excellent guy, or that you must anticipate to drink, or that you must anticipate this conduct. What's going to matter is what the regulation thinks of it. And we consider the regulation thinks this is improper."
