England boss Gareth Southgate stated Ben White was omitted from his Three Lions squad for upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Belgium as a result of he made himself unavailable for selection.

'I spoke to him post-Qatar because I was keen to select him and there was clearly reticence from his aspect.
'I don't know absolutely why that's, however I have to respect that.

Regardless of the setback, Southgate says White continues to be in his plans and he will think about choosing him once more sooner or later.
'I need to depart the door open for him because he's an excellent participant and I feel he's a participant that would make a distinction for England,' stated Southgate.
'However he's not obtainable to us and so the one different thing I might say is, there isn't a situation between us at all.'
