Southampton forward Ben Brereton Diaz has set a new Premier League record of making the most appearances in the competition without being on the winning side, after his side lost 3-0 at home to Manchester United. The Chile international has now not featured in the winning side of a Premier League game for 18 matches, having overtaken the unenviable record set by Marvin Sordell. Sordell set the record between 2012 and 2015 for Burnley and Bolton Wanderers, with 17 games without a win.
