HOLIDAYMAKERS leaving their automobiles parked at a serious UK airport are being targeted by thieves nicking spare wheels.
Cops say eight reviews have been manufactured from wheels being taken from vehicles parked at Gatwick Airport in current weeks.




The victims at Gatwick declare they have need to pay vital amounts to replace the tyres.
One stated the spare wheel was taken from the back of their £60okay 4×4 – and costed them £2,000 to switch.
Comments on-line appear to point out the thefts have been occurring for weeks.
Sarah Breakspear, 42, stated the spare wheel from her car was stolen 5 weeks in the past – leaving her and her husband with a £400 invoice.
Sarah, from Weymouth, Dorset, stated: "Once we returned to our truck, as we have been walking in the direction of it we observed the chain for the spare tyre was hanging down.
"We trusted the Gatwick valet service with the car, acquired again late at night time and simply needed to get residence.
"Now we're out of pocket. It put us off from parking there in the future."
She says Gatwick did refund the pair for the lacking wheel after she complained online.
Sussex Police advised GloucestershireLive: "Sussex Police are conscious of eight studies of spare wheels being taken from automobiles in automotive parks close to London Gatwick.
"Officers are investigating and anyone with info is asked to report it to Sussex Police online, quoting serial 1294 of 09/02."
A London Gatwick spokesperson stated: "We take the safety of automobiles parked in our automotive parks very significantly.
"There are a selection of measures in place including barrier controls, number plate recognition cameras and common security patrols. We are supporting the police investigation into the incidents."
NCP, which runs automotive parks at Gatwick, has been approached for comment.
