A DRUNK driver who almost smashed right into a kerb as youngsters have been being picked up from faculty has dodged jail after telling a decide she was "very, very upset".

The 58-year-old was seen swerving across the street and virtually crashed into a kerb near a main faculty in Winsford, Cheshire.
Police pulled her over at around three.40pm as youngsters have been being picked up and observed she was "confused, smelt of alcohol and was slurring her speech".
She was breathalysed and gave a reading of 139 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal restrict is 35.
Oakes prevented jail after admitting drink-driving and was as an alternative handed a 12-month group order and 36-month driving ban.
She should bear a six-month alcohol remedy programme, 20 rehabilitation exercise days and full 150 hours unpaid work.
Her lawyer Wendy Shurrock had pleaded: "She could be very, very upset with herself.
"I am asking you and your colleagues to comply with the recommendations in the pre-sentence report."
Chester Magistrates' Court heard Oakes clambered drunk into her automotive on January 17 as youngsters have been leaving a nearby main faculty.
In addition to the group order, she should pay pay prosecution costs and a victim surcharge, totalling £238.
Sentencing, JP Harold Tonge stated: "Clearly, this is going to have an impact, notably the size of the ban."
