Martin Odegaard has jested that he's 'scared' to rejoice after Jamie Carragher's slammed the Arsenal captain for over-celebrating.
After Arsenal beat Liverpool 3-1 on the Emirates at the beginning of February, Odegaard celebrated by taking pictures of the club photographer in front of jubilant fans.
His actions drew the ire of Liverpool legend Carragher, who stated: 'Pricey me. Just get down the tunnel. You've gained a recreation. It's three factors.
'They've been sensible, they're again within the title race, get down the tunnel.'
His comments have been incredibly divisive, with Odegaard hitting back by saying: 'And when you're not allowed to rejoice whenever you win a recreation, when are you allowed to have fun?'
On Monday night time, the pair have been reunited after Arsenal thrashed Sheffield United 6-0 at Bramall Lane, a win that puts the Gunners back inside two factors of Liverpool and Manchester City in he title race.
The attacking midfielder scored the opening objective within 5 minutes and was later awarded participant of the match.
Carragher was among those interviewing the Norway skipper post-match where he cheekily advised him: Martin, it was a unbelievable performance by yourself and a fantastic win for the group.
'I simply didn't see the photographer on the pitch! Is he within the dressing room? Are you going to get together?'
A laughing Odegaard quipped in response: 'I was ready so that you can say one thing!
'I was too scared to [take a photo] as we speak, so I went straight inside at the moment!'
Reflecting on the game, the 25-year-old stated: 'We all know it's a robust place to return so we have now completed really good from the start, we took control of the sport, we all know what their recreation is about, they need to play a number of direct football, and we had to be prepared for that.
'And then once we had the ball, we have been in a very good mood at present and we created quite a bit, we scored the objectives early on and stored on going from there and in the long run it was a strong and nice performance.
'We needed to keep the momentum going, we've had some good games now within the league and we needed to stick with it, we all the time need to start robust, particularly at places like this where it may be a bit tough if you don't start properly and as we speak we did and we did not stop from there.'
